Absence and Attendance

Attendance

We recognise that attendance is a matter for the whole school community.

Regular school attendance is essential if children are to achieve their full potential at school.  We value all pupils and we will work with families to identify the reasons for poor attendance and try to resolve any difficulties.

We believe that regular school attendance is the key to enabling children to maximise the educational opportunities available to them enabling them to become emotionally resilient, confident and competent individuals who are able to make a positive contribution to their community.

Absence

It is most important that we receive a telephone call on the child’s first day of absence.

Leave of Absence Request Forms

Parents are strongly advised to avoid booking holidays or visits during term time as Headteachers may no longer grant any leave of absence during term time unless there are exceptional circumstances.  Should parents be considering leave of absence during term time, they need to contact the Headteacher to discuss this.
